My favorite source for the origin of English words.

So it seems there are a lot of words for this. You mention in your article Klammeraffe but i’Ve also seen Heftgerät , Heftmaschine , Hefter, Heftapparat. I assume Tacker is by far the most popular. In switerland apparently its called the Bostisch , which is great cus thats one of my favourite tracks by Yello, but i guess the word is not one I’ll ever get to use in north germany…had you ever come across that word?
None of the versions with “Heft” feel idiomatic to me. I would understand “Heftgerät”, but the others… not really. And “Hefter” is the word for a folder as well, so that’s REALLY confusing. Never heard Bostisch as a word, but I do know the song. Mainly from their set at Mayday in the 90s.. Great set to this day for me.
wow, was not expecting them to do an acid techno thing…I’m only really familiar with their 80s stuff.
They were invited and had some kind of second spring at the time anyways. Even a version of their song was in the charts. So yeah, Mayday invited them and I think the made their set the way it as mainly to “fit in”. I like it honestly, it just won’t let up. Relentless.
yeah relentless is the word. Do you know this ep btw? I think it was probably actually my (indirect) introduction to Yello. Not really followed his career since the beginning of the 2000s but his 90s stuff is still great https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_nxg5HrxE2_O0AObWx4RS_v4qZdcpkL3ms&feature=shared
Oh, the third one (Minus One) is an absolute classic for me. I didn’t know it was Richie, though, and didn’t know it was based off of Yello either :D.
