What do you call a section of a shelf, like when shelves are organised by theme?
I was thinking actually of like say a film rental place where the shelves is organised into sections – like horror, sci-fi, comedy etc. Or like certain directors having their own section.
I wanted to use the word “Abteilung” but hesitated as i though maybe it was wrong.
Good question.
“Abteilung” sounds like it would be bigger. You can use “Regal”, but if it’s not the whole shelf, that might be weird.
“Bereich” is also bigger. And Sektion oder “säcktschinn” would work.
But I think a good chunk of people might actually use “bei den [Genre]-Filmen (or Sachen).
great , thanks!
