Ok, so this could also be a pub that serves food ?
But if no food is served and only drinks its not a Lokal?
Would a “Lokal” serve a certain kind of food?
Can a fancy michelin star restauraunt be a Lokall?
It does have to have food, yes.
And I’d associate the word with more down to earth food, than a Michelin restaurant.
Thanks!
Do you see a Wirtschaft as the same as a Lokal?
Does staying over night play a role in any of these or not?
Wirtschaft in that context sounds bigger than Lokal and a bit “formal”. Overnight stays are not really part of a Lokal in my mind, for a Wirtschaft maybe, but I would recommend not ever using “Wirtschaft” in this context, unless it’s the term “Gastwirtschaft” for the “genre”.

you mean one should use “Gastwirtschaft” to clarify its a Wirtschaft that takes guests overnight?
Sorry, my sentence was really confusing.
I mean that you just should not use “Wirtschaft” for any single locale or tavern or inn or whatever.
Gastwirtschaft may work, but it sounds super formal and the only contexts I would use it in is if I talk generally about the Gastwirtschaftsgewerbe as an industry or something.
cool danke
