My favorite source for the origin of English words.
I didn’t know where to post this so I got creative.
When the site is in dark mode and you open the dictionary, the little green circles showing the “value” of a meaning to a word do not appear.
Or more accurately, the circles are there but the color filling them is not. You have to turn off dark mode to view this feature.
All right, should be fixed, but you might need ctrl+f5 this time.
The darkmode of the dictionary definitely needs some work anyway.
My f5 key is the “decrease brightness” key, and pressing ctrl with it doesn’t seem to have any effect whatsover, it just reduces the brightness.
I don’t like using dark mode but wanted to try it out. Back to the normal site’s color palette.
Then you have to have a fn-key or similar somewhere which switches the brightness /f5 back and forth. You press that once, then the brightness key should stop doing brightness.
It did work! I have a Fn key, and pressing it with the Esc key (which is also the FnLock key) made the F5 stop controlling brightness, and allowed the change to happen when I pressed the Ctrl+F5. MAGIC.
I feel like such a tech gemius right now it’s amazing!!
