2/10! I haven’t read any of your lessons on prefixes yet so all of this was new and he trying to figure it out on my own, we learn from my mistakes! Though all the boxes turning green made me think I was the best guesser in the world
Oh, sorry for getting your hopes up with the colors :). Maybe make prefix verbs a focus for the next few months. I recommend a couple of articles of my series “Prefix Verbs Explained” per week. You’ll slowly build a feeling for them. There’s no short cut really, though. It’s like with fitness. Consistency over time is where it’s at.
Has anyone ever worked out which verb has the most prefix variants? I tried making a list in my head of (I think) ‘stehen’ and got to some silly number like 15, then my girlfriend came up with another 3 or 4 … unbelievable!
I haven’t done a count but those basic ones like stehen, gehen, machen and so on all have more than 10 at least. I think 20 is possible if you count “zusammen” and others. And then there’s the r-versions. “rausmachen”, “ausmachen” … 2 already.
I love this quiz and I love the multiple choice format. These prefixes are hard enough and I initially thought I would fail but on two separate occasions and each being over a week apart I got 5/10. It shows to me I learnt nothing the first time, despite some extra research into ziehen. Perhaps third time lucky.
Hey, I got all of them right. Maybe I’m starting to get the meaning conveyed by the prefixes
Wow, congratulations :D!!!
Please note my correct email its harrymolloy etc and not Harrymolloy etv
I’ll change it in the list, danke.

Nur 50%! .
Ach kein Problem.. mach das Quizz einfach mehrmals, wie eine Vokabelapp :)
its fantastic quiz
Oh, dankeschön :D
Exzellentes Quiz, gutes Format. Vielen Dank, Manuel.
I found this very handy and useful. Thank you!
9/10
Sehr überrascht, dass ich 70% hatte!
Dachtest du, du hast weniger oder mehr :D
Only 5/10, but I really enjoyed it. Is there a “rule of thumb” for r- prefixes in general?
Yes, “r”-versions are very literal and about location.
going out in sense of actually leaving a place is “rausgehen”, not “ausgehen” for example.
It doesn’t always work, but it’s defintely a trend.
excellent exercises. But I have 3 incorrect answers. how can i find the correct answers? I looked at the advent calenders of past years, they are all very interesting and i learned many things. i”m really happy to have membership of your website.
Vielen Dank.
At the end of the quiz you can click “show questions” then you’ll see the correct answers.
This quiz setup was super. However, the more I study, the less I seem to know – only 4 correct !! :-( !!
This calendar is a wonderful gift. Vielen Dank.
Cool, glad to hear you like it!
I believe I answered all items correctly, but the quiz entered them incorrectly.
Bad quiz, bad bad quiz!!
70% but loved the quiz setup!
What do you mean “but”… 70 is pretty damn good :)
P.S. The “Mark the article as Read” function is not working for me, even if I sign in…
I know… I have to change some settings but I’m too busy at the moment to look into that. Sorry!!!!
Whew. 40% Viel zu lernen!
And I love the set up — multiple choice is great.
It’s definitely really comfy if you’re on your phone… that’s part of why I picked it :)
Fun quiz! 9/10
Which one did you get wrong, I’m curious…
