Ok, so when are we supposed to expect the “hammerkrass, super lit” Advent Calendar post? It’s 12.25 Sweden time and von Glögg (due to, because of Glögg) it is also naptime and Still No Advent Calendar Post. Hmmm…
Abducted by Santa as a slave worker? Run over by Reindeer? Snogging a Snowwoman?
Truth is, so far the day was quality time with my girl :). Sleeping in, eating, drinking coffee, outdoor sports, indoor sports, going for a walk.
But I’ll prepare the litest post ever now. You will be REALLY disappointed :D
Happy to hear that (that you spend quality time with your significant other)!
You could NEVER disappoint us! Feel free to deliver any time before New Year!
And have an Awesome Holiday! Hugs to you both and everyone in the comments.
I find these installments very very helpful to really learning spoken German. It is also helpful to have this type of dialogue [monologue] for a real conversation in German, rather than these stuffy textbook conversations.
Thank you for the book recommendation–I know someone who would love this book as a gift!
A clairvoyant [the second sight] raven sounds more cheerful than the Edgar Allen Poe version. ;-)
Thank you for all you do for us.
Any inadvertent burps would be excused. ;-)

Wow!!! I really tried to find it but couldn’t. Thanks for the title. Have you read it?
It made me want to read it too. I am going to borrow it from my library. And yes, I found I could follow quite a lot of the spoken German. Ich danke dir

Thanks for the book tip!
In case a little Christmas feeling is desired, here is a link to a fine and free Project Gutenberg tale:

Super, danke für den Link :)
Thanks for the lessons – I really enjoy your posts. I read Raven’s End about ten years ago. It was one of my favourite books, and I read a lot of books! I lived in Canmore, the town close to where the book takes place before moving to Germany three years ago. I also have a long history with the mountain where the ravens in the book live (Mt. Yamnuska). Whenever I climbed a route on Yamnuska, the ravens would fly by and I would think of Colin and the other ravens. I was surprised (and pleased) to see today’s post about “Raven’s End”! I love Germany, but the language is hard! Please keep up the helpful work.
Oh wow, what a coincidence to have a reader who actually knows the area :).
I really want to visit that part of the word and part of the reason is the book.
Another commenter found that the book actually DOES exist in German. It is called “Rabens Ruh”, so in case you want to read it again in German, you can.
Viele Grüße und schöne Feiertage
Cheers for the audio, I like to listen to you when you’re not speaking extra slow for us, even if I have to listen to the same thing 5 times and read it as well before I understand what you’re saying… If we never hear proper native German, we’ll never learn! Although I think Anji is right, burping would be a bit rude… unless the German burp is different from the English burp… nah, I don’t think so :)
A German burp is the audio equivalent of a lily of the valley under a rainbow.
Good review, mein Freund und Kupferstecher.
It made me want to read it and I’ve ordered it from Amazon.
Your raven has ‘second sight.’
Let me know how you like it, please :)!!
Thank you for the book tip!
