Just wondering if you had any thoughts about dativ / genetiv and how they are used with reference to this prepostion?
How does “innerhalb einem Jahr” sound?
Is this one where people would default to dativ in the spoken everyday language?
To me it sounds slightly crappy, and I’m generally pretty liberal with this stuff. So this is one where I would actually use Genitive, but considering how I always bash the people who insist on it with “wegen”, I can’t say anything against Dative either.
ok good to know. Out of interest how often do you personally use genetiv in spoken german? More or less not at all?
Good question, maybe twice a day? I would have to pay attention and count maybe. It’s possible I use a lot of Genitive that I don’t notice.
maybe there is an app that monitors how often you use genetiv (joke).
