Freundlich sondern feindlich,
Geweighten sondern weiher geweiht,
Edler sondern bloß älterer,
Heilig sondern eilig,
Süß sondern sauer,
Mutig vs muntig.
Meine verdammt endlose Deutschverbesserei!
Hätte ich davon g‘wusst, wär‘ ich seit langem frei
– Durch die Wunderwirkende Lingopie!
Wow, very creative!! You’ve read your share of German poetry too, considering the spot on shortenings.
Dunkelheit verwirrt
Ein dichter Wald der Logophobie
Strahlend hell, Lingopie
If I remember correctly, Haikus don’t have to rhyme. This took me ages none the less
They don’t rhyme on the surface, they rhyme in the soul.
You said a Haiku, Haikus don’t rhyme
A parody of Goethe’s Erlkönig:
Wer bleibt so spät beim Computer wach?
“Mein Freund, warum lächelst du so?”
“Jetzt gucke ich alle meine Lieblingshows!
“Und lerne neues Wortschatz dabei
“All das ist möglich mit Lingopie.”
“Ihr liebe Studenten, kommt mit mir.
“Es gibt viele schöne Filme hier.
“Manch interessante Shows hab’ ich für euch
“Und beim gucken lernt ihr auch viel Deutsch.”
“Mein Freund, mein Freund, willst du echt nicht
“Alles, was Lingopie uns verspricht?”
“Ich will das doch, ich melde jetzt an
“Dann komm’ ich mit Deutsch sehr viel voran.”
Das macht sie glücklich; sie lernen sehr schnell
Viele Wörte von wahre Deutsche Quelle
Sie können endlich selbtsicher sein
Sie erreichten dahin mit Lingopie.
Holy cow, real talk: did you really make that yourself? No AI help?
I promise! All I used was Google Translate and this website for some words.
Is my grammar really good enough to make it seem like it was written by AI?
Okay now that you ask me like that, no :).
It’s not like there are grave mistakes in there but a few little ones here and there that an AI probably wouldn’t make.
What mistakes did I make?
Mein Versuch:
Alle Deutschlerner müssen die Nacht überleben
Sie können sich selbst nie wieder vergeben
Artikel, Verben, Tränen, das reicht
Denn Lingopie macht das leicht
Wenn wir eine zweite Chance bekämen
Würden wir alle Französisch wählen
(That’s my golden shot)
Ha ha I love it!
Würden wir alle Französisch wählen
Heresy!!!
*shaking my head in sad
(You didn’t say it had to be a good poem)
It is a good poem, I love it
(You didn’t say it had to be a good poem)
So why did you make a good one then ;)?
I used to use Lingopie. I really liked it and found it helpful. This must have been before the AI feature was added. I “graduated” from Lingopie when I was ready to watch German TV shows with German subtitles on mediatek sites. I was running out of Lingopie content that appealed to me, so that also encouraged me to move to the next step. I can now watch without subtitles but don’t always understand everything, so I will be at this stage for a while.
I guess the step after that would be writing German TV shows, but that may be a bit ambitious.
So since you’ve “durchgespielt” Lingopie… how much content is actually there? Like, for how long did you use it?
It was under a year. There was still content there that I could have used but it didn’t appeal to me. I don’t actually like watching most TV shows. I don’t watch English language TV at all now and only watch in German.
Here you are!!!!
Ich muss ein Gedicht schreiben
um meine kostenlose Mitgliedschaft zu schaffen
Ich wünschte, jemand hätte mich gewarnt,
dass um Deutch zu lernen
muss ich auch Dichter werden
Ein Reim, muss ich denken
mit dem Wort Lingopie
nur weil ich keine Euro habe,
weder Dollar noch Rupien
Ich schaue gerne Lingopie,
wenn ich esse; warme Brei
mit einem Löffel Marmelade
und eine Tasse heiße Schokolade
Hmm.
I think I did a pretty much good job here with my broken german.
Please let me know if it sounds good, Emanuel.
and if it sounds good, then at least add my poem in the winning race list:)
This is so awesome… like a little song even.
A Haiku follows these rules: 3 lines, with 5 syllables in the first, 7 in the second, and 5 in the third for a total of 17, and no rhyming is necessary. So here is my Haiku:
Mein Wunsch zu Weihnacht
ist Lingopie fuer alle
aber kostenlos.
Love it!!
Ein Haiku zum elften Tag
Was ist Lingopie?
Lernen für Stubenhocker
Sprache Utopie!
Not my most sophisticated piece of work ever, but it was fun trying to give it a try:
Deutsch macht viel Spaß
Wenn du das lernst
Mit lingopie
Hab keine Angst
Von neuen Wörter
Sogar Grammatik
Es wird okay!
Emanuel,
I loved that bit of advice: a dwarf seldom climbs a birch.
Ok- Here is my attempt.
I love writing in German and then checking with Google Translate, so I’ve included both because that’s how I learn best.

Can’t even compete, this dude won already
It is a masterpiece of word play
Honestly, there are so many good ones, I wish Lingopie didn’t have a free trial by default and I could instead offer one to all of you for 7 days, instead of having to chose one.
I think imma have to go with wheeldecide.com for this one.
A dwarf seldom climbs a birch.
Lo and behold!
For lo, the winter is past, the rain over and gone….
Just pointing out two typos.
Thomas tren ist absurdlich spät.
I will pass on the contest because I can’t think of a poem. The words and ideas aren’t coming to me.
