“commiserate ” is a verb, commiseration is a noun. Commiseration i associate primary with the act of expressing sorrow for something unfortunate that has happened to theme.g. “I am sorry for your loss”. So an act of speech normally – but does mitfühlen refer to the actual act of expressing condolences etc to the affect person? Or more about feeling ?
