einstellen

Meanings

1.
to configurate/to stets up/to tune
(Settings of devices, like an AC or the phone settings.)
2.
to employ
(The focus is on the act of employing, while the other one, "anstellen", focuses on the state of being employed. "einstellen" is used maunly as a verb.)
Opposite (closest): entlassen
3.
to cease, to discontinue to knock of
(Often for fire or some sort of attemps, sounds formal and is as common as it is logical (i.e. not very much).)
4.
to mentally prepare for, to get ready for
("sich+Acc einstellen auf+Acc" - very common in daily life.)
