Just wondering to what extent this could be a synonym for “stay”.

If i booked an all inclusive holiday at a resort where everything was included – food , enterntainment, activities etc, does übernachten sound weird or is it ok?

I put “we stayed at the 5 star resort for 2 weeks” into deepL and übernachten came up 7th.

I’ve never been to a 5 star resort btw, probably never will, even if i could. I just did a mock exam and was reviewing my text.

Oh, good to hear : )

A selection of the translations deepL offered:

First:
wir waren 2 Wochen lang im 5-Sterne-Resort

second:

wir blieben 2 Wochen lang im 5-Sterne-Resort

third:

wir haben 2 Wochen in dem 5-Sterne-Resort gewohnt

sixth:

wir verbrachten 2 Wochen in dem 5-Sterne-Resort
