is verleben like verbringen [spend time on..] except verleben is to spend life on something?
It can be used in the sense of spending time, like for instance a few nice days on vacation, but it’s really rare and sounds old school.
As an adjective, it tends to express “used up by living”… think of a 30 year old who looks 45.
