My favorite source for the origin of English words.
Is there any difference of meaning between “ein Gesetz erlassen” and “ein Gesetz verabschieden” ?
Both mean “to pass a law” right?
“erlassen” sounds more authoritarian to me while “verabschieden” sounds more like discussing it in parliament and eventually passing it.
But technically they mean the same.
