My Feuer graphic mnemonic is a black and white gif of Lauren Bacaul lighting her cigarette with a match. This works i believe correctly for the German usage. But it just occured to me that it doesn’t in English as we would refe to it as a light. So I assume the reason must be that in English fire is plural, that is a plurality of flames!
