I am interested in your definition here. Could you expand on what you mean by connecting the dots?

You mean this would be wrong? “after thinking over all the possibities I concluded this would be the wrong to go ahead” . So its not about the process, more about the results?

But these would be correct:

Das Fazit war, das Thomas wurde gekündigt

Alle relevante Ideen wurde in Fazit zusamengefasst.
