Is this the word you’d use for a person who is fake in the english sense of putting on an act?

Could be that they are nice to your face but when they want something, but the minute they get what they want they stop.

Or that they pretend to be something they are not (present themselves having a politcal position but don’t live it)

I know the second example could be used desrcibed with “Heulerei” but i’m more interested in emphasising artificiality than the double standard

Me personally, I would use “fake” but you can use “falsch” for fake personalities. Just the use is a bit tricky.
– Thomas ist falsch.

This can work, but only in the right context.
And it’s sounding quite serious. More like backstabbing, not just superficial fakeness.

There are several other options like “aufgesetzt” or “vorgespielt” for the more mundane things.

Oh and then there’s Krokodilstraenen for a specific type of fake compassion.
