how do you explain im Fallen
“while being in the process of falling” would be the most standard way of understanding it.
– Der Detektiv hat im Fallen geschossen und getroffen.
Did you see it in a different context?
actually it was in the context of a legal investigation so i wasnt sure if it was legal german (relating to der Fall)but reading it again its what you suggested
Ah, yeah, I was wondering “does he mean im Falle” which then would simply be “in case”. But your German do be too good for that.
