My favorite source for the origin of English words.

Also you say Ein Strandhaus ist eine Ziel, aber keine Bestimmung so there must be a difference between the two, however DWDS defines https://www.dwds.de/wb/Bestimmungsbahnhof as Zielbahnhof so there also must be a kind of overlap also?
True, but this really only happens in compounds like Bestimmunsgsort or Bestimmungsbahnhof and there’ a flair of logistics to it.
Thnaks. Did you miss the other comment from me below? : )
Yup :)! I think I found a good answer now.
Is there a common idea to all the different ideas this word expresses? Its a pretty elusive one
Think of a voice saying: “It be so!”
That can be God/the universe, a person in a lab or the government.
gibt es Unterschied zwischen Bestimmung und Anordnung, oder können sie in jeweiliger Bedeutung als Synonyme verwendet werden?
You mean in the official context?
“Anordnung” is more about a direct order that is given. Like the boss saying “No one leaves before midnight”
“Bestimmung” is more about general guidelines or requirements.
Does that help?
