Word Family
The core idea of this root was:
owning, possessing
It’s the origin of (to) own, to owe, ought and the words freight and fraught, which are probably based on a notion of carrying, bringing your belongings somewhere.

Gibt es ein unterschied zwischen ‘eine eigene…’ und ‘deine eigene’? Vielleicht bedeutet ‘eine..’ etwas, das irreal ist, vs ‘deine…’ für etwas, das existiert?
…*einen* Unterschied….
Sehr gut ;)!
No, “deine eigene” is “your own”.
“eine eigene” is “an X that I/one owns”.
Here’s an example where I would use “eine eigene”
– Ich brauche eine eigene Waschmaschine.
– I need my own washing machine.
The crucial thing here is that you don’t have one, but the concept “one’s washing machine” is appealing to you.
Does that help?
Super, wie immer – vielen dank!
yes, that helps clarify :)
Cool, glad to help!, Hey, did you actually get a notification that I answered? And if yes, did you get it by mail or by WordPress?
because the dictionary is custom built and I’m not sure actually, if these functions work.
No notification – I just came back to see. When you say ‘by WordPress’ do you mean that when I log on to the site I might see notifications? I’d stayed logged in, but just logged out and then back in again, but nothing (although I’d seen your responses by then…). Happy to test if that helps :)
Not sure about WordPress, actually. I have a comment feed but that comes from WordPress.com while I am running the site based on WordPress.org. The comments are managed by a third party plugin and the dictionary is self made, so yeah… I’m not really expecting notifications to work, which is sad, but oh well.
I’m actually glad I get one about a new comment for the entries.
Don’t worry about testing, time will do that :).
