Wow, time flies!! June passed by so fast that it took me until today to even remember to do the monthly catch-up newsletter.
|
But anyways... here's what I did in June and what you might have missed :)

Writing Practice Tool
|
First up, I posted a renewed and much improved version of my writing correction tool.
|
Originally, it was just a simple tool to check your sentences, but now, it's more of an Ai based writing coach.
|
|
You give it a text, and it'll break down all the mistakes one by one, explain what's wrong and give you a correct version.
|
AND it'll analyse your mistakes and tell you if you have somee systemic mistakes that you should focus on.
|
|
Oh, and it also gives you translation too, so you can check if you really said what you meant to say.
|
|
|

Learning Quiz - der Grund
Next up was one of these learning quizzes many of you enjoy so much. Or Quizzons, as I'm now calling them, because they're really basically a lesson, but in a more interactive involved form than just reading or watching a video.
|
In the quiz, we go over the meanings and use of Grund and the related words like gruenden, begruenden and so on.
And if you want to dig deeper after that, you can also check out my classic lecture style lesson on the topic, but do do the quiz first.

Learning Quiz - Genitive
|
One thing I did this months was starting to update my grammar series on cases a bit. You know... some botox here and there and some hyaloron :).
|
I did rework the articles on Nominative and Genitive quite thoroughly and especially Genitive now has got a bit more space to breath.
|
|
And while I was on that topic, I thought, why not also create a Quizzon (Quiz-lesson) for it, where you can learn the key points in the more interactive and participatory way.
|
So if you want to recap Genitive, test yourself about it or even just study it for the first time, the quiz is the perfect starting point and then, if you feel like it, you can deepen that in the classic lesson-style article.

"again" in German - nochmal vs wieder
|
Last but not least, I made an article about how to translate "again" in German and when to use nochmal and when to use wieder, because it's a fairly common mistake that learners make.
|
This is a more "classic" article, but it does have a quiz too, where you can apply what you learned.
|
Other Stuff?
I've been busy with two games I'm working on that I'll hopefully show you soon. One is for German noun gender and I can safely say it's the best approach to this stuff BY FAR. Seriously... all these boring flashcard style apps can pack up and go home.
|
It just takes a bit longer because I LOVE working on the music for these things and I spend quite a bit of time on creating immersive, relaxing soundscapes that don't get annoying or boring.
|
Other than that, I'm still cleaning up the site design and night mode little by little and I have (almost) reached the beta testing for integrating YourDailyGerman into YOUR ChatGPT. Yes, not ChatGPT on YourDailyGerman, but the other way around, which is arguably more meaningful.
|
Anyway, lots to come this month, and I'll probably start with the reflexive verb tool I promised last month already.
Delay is the herald of quality as they say.
