Wie läuft's bei euch? Hier kommt langsam langsam der Herbst, und das ist im Prinzip schön, denn ich mag Herbst. Aber ein Sache ist schade: ich habe eine riesige Tomatenpflanze auf dem Balkon, an der noch ganz viele kleine grüne Kirschtomaten sind, aber die werden wohl nicht mehr reif, denn nachts ist es schon zu kalt.

How are things going for you.
Here, fall is slowly coming and generally, that's nice because I like fall. But one thing is a pity: I have a giant tomato plant on the balcony, which has lots of little cherry tomatoes on it, but those won't get ripe anymore because it's already too cold at night.

Ich hatte vielleicht 1 Kilo reife Tomaten (und es ist aber nochmal ein Kilo kleine Tomaten dran) und die were so lecker!

Das krasseste ist aber, dass ich die Tomate gar nicht gepflanzt hatte. Ich hatte irgendwann im Winter mal eine alte Cherry-Tomate auf dem Balkon in den großen Blumentopf geworfen, und diesen Sommer kam dann die Tomate.

I had about 2 pounds of ripe tomatoes (and there's another two pounds small tomatoes on it) and they were so tasty!

And the craziest thing is that I didn't even plant the tomato. Some time in winter, I had thrown an old cherry tomato into the big flower pot and this summer then came the tomato.

Naja... Manchmal klappt's am besten, wenn man's nicht versucht.

Und das bringt uns auch zu unserem Thema, denn heute gucken wir uns mal an, wie man "to try" auf Deutsch übersetzt. Ihr denkt jetzt wahrscheinlich "Ah, versuchen." und das stimmt, aber es gibt noch mehr Optionen und die sind (natürlich) keine Synonyme.

And that brings us right to our topic, because today, we'll look at the way how to translate "to try" to German. You're now probably thinking "Oh, versuchen." and that's correct, but there are more options and they're (of course) not synonyms.
